The Spartan Sprint

The Spartan Sprint, South London - 30th August, 2014 Photos by Christina Koutoula and Tavisha Fernando Film shot with a Garmin Virb Elite Action Camera (see our review of the camera Here). First up, for an idea of what the course was like, have a look at this short film we made whilst taking part. There were 3,000 people signed up to take part in this event but by midday, about the time that our Trek and Run team had finished, an extra 1,200 had turned up hoping to race. Perhaps the…

The Spartan Obstacle Race Training Camp

By Steve Kimberley. Photos Epic Action Imagery Now as a regular runner, who takes part in the occasional obstacle course, I was really looking forward to the Spartan race Training camp to see what it had to offer. Something that I have noticed while running obstacle courses in the past is that regardless of how strong a runner you are, all it takes is one of the obstacles to prove a bit too much of a struggle and all of a sudden even getting around the course becomes far more difficult…

The 2013 Helly Hansen Killarney Adventure Race, #2, Ireland

By Dave Sherman The Helly Hansen Killarney Adventure Race was held on Saturday 5th October, 2013. There were 3 distances to choose from; a 27km route, a 59km and a 69km, all involving a mix of trail running, cycling and kayaking. We chose the 69km. For years I’d planned to visit Ireland but even though it’s only just over an hour flight from London I’d never gotten round to it, so when I was invited to take part in the Killarney Adventure Race I jumped at the chance. The website…

There were 3 distances to choose from; a 27km route, a 59km and a 69km, all involving a mix of trail running, cycling and kayaking. We chose the 69km. First of all, here’s a film of the event, it’ll give you an idea of what to expect from the route if you’re thinking of doing it yourself. Part 1 – David Wise Hopefully you’ll have already seen my film of the race. If not, do have a…
