The Hamilton Marathon Road2Hope – 4th November 2018

The Hamilton Road2Hope has the potential to be the fastest marathon in Canada; Dave, Virgil, Emrys and Adam from our team took on the Full Marathon, and Jenn took on the Half. Jenn – The reviews were right, the course was fast and there was a lot of downhill.  In fact, the half marathon was several kilometres of downhill.  Slightly boring and empty highway mind you, but still downhill. Getting to the race by car was very easy.  Save for a line-up to get into the parking lot which had…

Run For The Toad – 29th September 2018

The Trek and Run Team were supported during this event by; Kusaga Athletic Salba Chia To give you an idea of the event, here’s a short film we made this year. And here’s another we made in 2017. Virgil – The Run for the Toad race in Pinehurst Lake Conservation Park is one of Trek and Run’s favourite trail events. Not only is it set in the heart of scenic countryside in Paris, Ontario, but October brings cooler weather conducive to an aggressive run. And also, above all that, we…

The Around The Bay 30k – 25th March 2018

The Trek and Run Team were supported during this event by; Kusaga Athletic Salba Chia Virgil – ATB is one of the best known Canadian races on the calendar, with the distinction of being older than Boston. The iconic climb late in the race that is short but at a crucial time, combined with the Grim Reaper taunting runners at the appropriate place (the Hamilton Cemetery) make it a memorable event. The day started out at a chilly -4°C, forecasted to rise to a still freezing -1°C at the anticipated…

The Mississauga Pandora Square One Half Marathon – 6th May, 2018

The Trek and Run Team were supported during this event by; Kusaga Athletic Salba Chia Here’s a short film that Dave made to give you an idea of the event. Dave – I didn’t think I’d be in shape to run the full Mississauga Marathon. Although I love it and have run it for the past few years I’d only just come back from the 7 day Marathon des Sables a few weeks earlier and felt that perhaps having just run 250k through the Sahara Desert I’d better stick to…

The Vodafone Malta Marathon – Feb 4th, 2018

Trek and Run were supported during this event by Kusaga Athletic Salba Chia Helly Hansen Bloc Eyewear & Visit Malta I’d just passed the half marathon point in a personal best time of 1:26, my head was up, I was still smiling and to an outsider it might’ve looked like I was doing just fine. But there was the twinge in my hamstring to nurse – it’d been there at the start of the race and it was getting worse – and now it was being joined by a slight…

The Fall Angus Glen Race Weekend 5k – Nov 4th 2017

The Trek and Run Team were supported during this event by; Kusaga Athletic Salba Chia There are a selection of distances to choose from at the Fall Angus Glen Race Weekend that takes place on a golf course just outside of Toronto. There’s an Apple Creek Kids K, a 5K, 10K and a Ten Miler. Virgil took on the 5k, this is what he thought of it.  This delightful small community, family friendly race on a picturesque golf course offers a stark contrast to the big, corporate races that I often…

The Hamilton Road2Hope Marathon – Nov 5th 2017

The Trek and Run Team were supported during this event by; Kusaga Athletic Salba Chia The Scotiabank Toronto Marathon is Toronto’s premier running weekend. Before we talk more about the event, here’s a film that’ll give you an idea of what Dave experienced as he ran the 5k and the marathon. 4 of the Trek and Run Team took on the marathon, here’s what they thought of the event. Emrys – With the prospect of this year’s racing season coming to an end, I was looking at one more big thing…

4 of the Trek and Run team took part, here’s what they thought of the events. Pamela – The Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Half Marathon has to be the best half marathon course I’ve encountered. Well, maybe I am biased, being a…
